Interswitch Blockchain Service and Payments technology company in Africa, Verve, has extended their services to United Arab Emirates, UAE.
The new payment blockchain service extension will enable Verve Global cardholders to use their cards on Discover Global Network. The Discover Global Network is open for transacting in more than 185 countries and territories, including Dubai, UAE.
The decision to bring Verve Global to Dubai was a strategic one says Mitchell Elegbe, Interswitch Group Managing Direction.
The new payment gateway launched in Dubai comes after the successful launch of Verve Global in New York. Verve Global was launched in New York in August this year, marking the Verve International’s first entrance into the UAE region.
Mitchell also said that Dubai is an important destination of choice for business and leisure due to its popularity among Nigerians.
Moreso, CEO, Mike Ogbalu III, said, he is happy that a domestic card scheme of Nigeria and African origin can be used for cross-border payments.
He also showed his appreciation to its partners especially Zenith Bank and First City Monument Bank who just joined them recently.
