Revealed on Thursday, at the Token 2049 conference, Solana Lab’s phone designing subsidiary would be releasing its second crypto phone in the year 2025.
Details of the Solana Phone, ‘Seeker’
Emmet Hollyer, who handles Solana Labs’ phone-making project, mentioned that the phone expected to ship in 2025 has been given a name, ‘Seeker’.
He also mentioned some peculiar features Seeker would have over the first mobile phone ‘Saga’. Some of these features of the new Solana Mobile Phone ‘Seeker’ includes;
- Better battery.
- Stronger camera
- Lighter design
- A new Seed Vault Wallet.
- An updated Solana dApp Store
Solana’s co-founder and Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko explained, “We founded Solana Mobile with the mission of taking crypto, mobile, and to achieve that, we needed to make Seeker more accessible, more affordable, and for its hardware and software to be even more deeply integrated for web3.”

Saga Mobile Phone Success
The success that the sales of Saga mobile brought in for the firm can be attributed to the instant crypto traders realized they could buy units to collect token airdrops worth more than the device itself; An astronomical surge in Solana-backed memecoin BONK, of which 30M tokens were loaded onto every Saga phone, leading to the Saga being sold out.
As stated by Hollyer, Solana’s commitment to building a second phone started after securing over 100,000 in pre-orders in early 2024. The capital infusion and buyer commitments helped Solana Mobile access better supply chain deals than was possible with the first edition.
Solana Mobile is also looking to explore the DePIN ecosystem, and in a bid to achieve this, they consulted with user-bootstrapped cellular network Helium and other Solana DePIN teams to figure out what sensor data they might want to harness in Seeker.
Solana Dapp store
The Solana Dapp Store was first launched with Saga Mobile and through this Dapp, developers can launch highly-tailored crypto apps without incurring the high fees of Apple’s App Store and Google Play.
Now with Seeker in production, it tends to improve discoverability of different apps according to Hollyer.
Finally, he mentioned that the Dapp store will also be able to more efficiently track token rewards users are amassing. Hollyer anticipates Seeker will have plenty of payday potential from the many teams planning to issue rewards to owners of the smartphone.
