Women in Tech: Limestart, Digitizing Commerce at Point of Sale for SMEs Makes the Fintech Ten Finalists of the UK-Nigeria Tech Hub Competition.
Limestart emerged among the ten finalist at the contest pitch programme hosted by UK-Nigeria Tech Hub in Lagos alongside other female tech startups in Nigeria.
A list of the women in tech who were among the ten finalists include:
- EduFinTech company, ScholarX by Damilola Emuze;
- A credit inclusion platform, pioneered by Ifeoma Uddoh;
- Shuttler platform, a shuttle mobile platform by Damilola Olokesusi.
- Health tech, Mobihealth, by Dr. Funmi Adewara.
- FinTech Company, Limestart by Keturah Ovio.
Limestart is a fintech company empowering small scale businesses to grow. It offers a digital commerce service at point of sale to SMEs in Nigeria helping them to manage their business portfolio easily.
Speaking about the event, the Country Director, UK-Nigeria Tech Hub, Henry Ogundeyi, said:
“the summit where the winners will be leaving for will also bring 15 other most ambitious development-focused women entrepreneurs where they will gain access to world-class mentoring, have time with UK investors and expert training to help scale their company.”
Harriet Thompson, the Deputy British High Commissioner in her keynote address, said that information and communication technology, ICT in Nigeria records 11 percent of the Gross Domestic Product, GDP in 2018.
She also notes that Nigeria has the fastest growing economy and will see a bigger economic growth in the future. Moreover, final fintech roadmap report encourages new favourable regulations for economic growth.
