Binance Allows NIN Slip For KYC Verification In Nigeria.

Share this:

Binance Nigeria has just recently announced that users in Nigeria can now complete their KYC verification using the government-issued NIN slip.

Aside from the first verification process, which entailed the use of BVN before the government banned Bitcoin transactions, making that option currently unavailable.

Those who haven’t completed their verification before the ban and new accounts have to face the challenges of getting a national ID card, drivers license or international passport.

Before this update, Binance users in Nigeria find it difficult to verify their accounts because in Nigeria it is quite difficult to get the official National ID card.

As many Binance users are without cars, getting a driver’s license might well be out of the question, which leaves the hard-to-get International passport the position of last option.

The NIN is the most popular identification document in Nigeria at the moment, which could be attributed to the fact that it is easily handed out in comparison to other means of identification.

So, after completing the first stage of verification, it is better to take the extra step to complete the second as the user only needs a utility bill or a bank statement with the user’s name and address.

The update was shared on the Binance Africa official Twitter handle on Tuesday, 19th October, the news was met with cheers on Twitter which revealed that a percentage of Nigeria Binance users were being affected by the strict verification process.
