Brave Browser, the world’s number one cryptocurrency-powered web browser by number of users announced an increase in the number of its monthly active users.

Brave reportedly saw an increase by 125% over the past year.

On June 1, Brave announced that it’s monthly active users reached 15.4 million by the end of May. While it’s daily active users, reached 5.3 million after increasing by 165% over the past year.

Brave users mostly use the desktop version of the application and only about 12.32% of Brave Browser’s total users use the browser’s cryptocurrency features including the binance trading widget.

The firm’s co-founder and CEO Brendan Eich said:

“When we first released [Brave Browser] on desktop, it was 40% of the desktop browser share and as we added mobile we found people were less willing to use it, but we are working to make it more attractive to use by making it more convenient, making it reward the user more.”

Brave Browser serves opt-in ads on it’s browser. With its increased number of users, according to brave, the browser has a 90-day average click-through rate of 9% on adverts served on the browser, much higher than the industry average of 2%.

Users can earn BAT tokens using the mobile and desktop versions of the browser
