Dollar Sells As High As N815 In Investor and Exporter Forex Window.

    The naira depreciated by 1.79 per cent against the United States dollar on the Investor & Exporter forex window on Wednesday, closing at N815./$.

    On Monday, local currency slumped to 770.38/$ at the close of trading on the I&E window on Monday, from 686.96/$ at the close of trading on Friday.

    According to figures obtained from the FMDQ, the trading, which commenced at 701.75/$ on Tuesday reached a high of 781/$ before closing at 756.61/$.

    The trading also recorded improved turnover of $134.47m on Tuesday from $78.03m at the close of trading on Monday.

    This is the highest rate traded for the dollar on the official market according to tracking records since 2018 when the window was launched.

    The exchange rate however closed at N763.17/$ at the close of business on Wednesday depreciating from N756.61/$1 recorded a day earlier.

    Meanwhile, the disparity between the black market and the official exchange rate market closed again on Wednesday with the official rates closing at N763/$1.
