Changpeng Zhao (Chinese: 赵长鹏) is a Chinese-Canadian business executive, who is the founder and CEO of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume since April 2018. Zhao was born in Jiangsu, an eastern-central coastal province of the People’s Republic of China. He was previously a member of the team that developed Blockchain.info and also served as chief technology officer of OKCoin.

He was a student of McGill University: Zhao attended McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he majored in computer science. He was the son of a Chinese Professor, a ‘pro-bourgeois intellect.’ He once worked with McDonald’s to help his family financially.
Zhao is a Software Trading Developer: Zhao worked for the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE). He developed software for matching trade orders at TSE. He also worked at Bloomberg Tradebook where he was a developer of futures trading software. Zhao launched Binance in July 2017, following a $15 million funding raised during an initial coin offering.
The Richest Person in Crypto Space: Changpeng is the richest person in the blockchain and crypto space. CZ’s net worth has doubled in the past year at $2.6 billion, as at Feb 2020, his networth has doubled according to the Hurun list. Last year, the CEO was worth $1.1 billion according to Forbes Rich List.

Zhao Loves Binance and Wears Binance: Though some will say it’s supposed of him, after all he founded the company. But the fact remains that he loves his company so much that he is passionate and tweets daily not only for his company but for the steady and safe growth of the crypto space. He always seen on Binance hoodies and T-shirts. He reportedly doesn’t own a single car or a house. Just like Steve Jobs, he is always on a hoodie bearing the company’s logo.

CZ’s Binance helped everyone who was affected by the Wine Swap rug pull to recover their funds. One of the victims lost around $160k USD equivalent and now recovered.
