Akoin Token, the purported biggest project from the cryptocurrency space in Africa, will be listing on Bittrex crypto exchange following the concluded BlockDown 2020 event.
The token was developed by the renowned American-Senegalese popstar Akon to improve social opportunities and access for African entrepreneurs.
According to the announcement, Bittrex Global, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges by trading volume will list Akoin. The token is based on the Stellar network and will open trading on Bittrex on November 11, allowing users to trade and transact using the token.

The main objective of the project is to improve social opportunities, livelihood and create support for potential entrepreneurs living in rural and remote regions of Africa who lack connection to the connection and support to grow and compete at the global level. The project will start in Senegal before expanding across the continent.

Use Cases: According to the press release, the Akoin Ecosystem will provide token holders with access to a wide range of decentralized apps (dApps) and apps. Already, users can pay for healthcare services using token at the Mwale Medical and Technology City (MMTC) of Western Kenya.
Also, the token will remain the base currency for the Akoin city, to be used in the buying and selling of goods, payments and spending in the region.
The project is also building an UN-backed Akoin Effect Opportunity Hub across Africa to allow young people to earn while they learn. This is centered on Blockchain and AI-based education opportunities.
Akoin Airdrop: Participate in the Airdrop and share in a pool of $25,000 token rewards. Each winner is entitled to a maximum of $10 worth of Akoin token.

With the listing, the token is set to be the largest crypto project from Africa.
