    Digital skills because the payment is mostly in dollars which will help you hedge against the falling Nigerian Naira. These top paying skills will help you to stay balanced and still cope with the failing economy and school system.

    These top five careers can be acquired under the Artificial Intelligence skill acquisition. They include:

    Data Analytics: These people are specially trained to properly manage that data that is the heart of machine intelligence production. Data analysts have a lucrative positive career outlook. These roles earn an average salary of $59,614 per year. 

    User Experience: This set of professionals are trained to study the user experience of these machines and collect feedback for a better production. These roles earn an average of $73,000 per year.

    Natural Language Processing: Natural language processing is applying machine learning to language. These sets will use their complex understanding of both language and technology to build systems through which computers can successfully communicate with humans. These roles are specialized in building languages into AI. They earn up to $107,000 per year.

    Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Research: Individuals in this category are specialized in making research works. They are creative minds that research on different sectors of the machine being developed. We have individuals who research on the development and advancement of the software used in developing these machines/robots. 

    Others specialize in creating ethics and fundamentals on which these machines are to be developed. This sect of skilled persons per research make more than $1,000,000 per year as of 2018. While the lower-level employees make between $300,000 and $500,000 per year in both salary and stock.

    Software Engineering: In the field of AI, these roles are specialized in designs and developing of the technical functionalities of these machines for maximum output. Software engineers are paid an average salary of $84,336 per year, with a special increment for those with a specialty in AI.

    Machine Learning: This is based on the  idea that various forms of technology, including tablets and computers, mobile phones etc can learn something based on programming and other data. 

    A good example of practical demonstration of machine learning is the Google Assistant, Alexa Siri etc which can easily identify a word and give you the result search when in play.     Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality: This is an interactive experience of a real-world environment where the objects that reside in the real world are enhanced by a computer-generated perceptual information and concept from the real world. It is sometimes enhanced across multiple sensory modals, including visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory.

    While in augmented reality (AR) the user is provided with extra computer generated information that enhances their perception of reality synonymous with architectural designs. Where architects display an AR of the proposed building to their clients.

    Cyber Security: Cyber Security means the protection of computer systems and networks from damage and theft. This damage can be electronic data or software damage which can comprise the services of the network or software provider. 

    Common examples of cyber security jobs are software developers (anti-virus), penetration tester, incident responder, cyber security consultant, security analysts, IT auditor etc. These professionals specialize in protecting, responding to attacks and building counter-attack software to safeguard the network and electronic data and info.

    These professionals are paid $130,000 annually and is a highly lucrative job with demand always growing across the space.

    Cryptocurrency/ Blockchain Technology: Cryptocurrency is a digital or virtual currency encrypted and secured by cryptography. Cryptocurrencies are impossible to counterfeit or double-spend. 

    Cryptos are based on a distributed ledger via a network of computers referred to as blockchain technology. Some are based on private blockchain without being distributed but a selected network of computers. Jobs like crypto writing, blockchain engineers, product managers, smart contract auditors, blockchain developers, legal consultants etc.

    Salary range for developers in this field range from $150,000 to $175,000 every year.

    Data Science: This is a process undergone to use statistics, data analysis and their related methods to “understand and analyze actual phenomena” and get the desired or needed results. It uses practicals, styles, patterns and theories from many fields within the context of mathematics, statistics, computer science, domain knowledge (knowledge of the field being worked on) and information science.

    Many jobs abound in this sector and they include: data analysts, data architects, machine learning engineers and scientists, application architects etc. These roles get a salary range of $116,000 to $160,000 every year.

    Mobile Application Development: These are mobile app developers. They are those individuals who create the mobile app that runs on smart phones including android, iOS and other smart phones. 

    These people create applications that run from several development environments. We have games mobile app developers and other types of mobile app developers. These people are paid heavily around $100,000 yearly. The demand is high also.

    Web Development: We have website developers, who are specialized in creating web applications. This involves the creation of web pages that make the websites look great with user-friendliness. These will require programming skills unlike web designers which may or not necessarily require a programming skill.

    These services are also in demand and have a salary count of $92,000 yearly.

    UI/UX Designers: These are designers who design products in a way that users can use it with ease without finding it difficult to navigate products. They usually design mobile apps and are tasked with making complex products user-friendly.

    These are usually skilled product designers. These roles earn $45 per hour or $90,000 yearly and over four million naira in Nigeria.

    Digital Marketing: This is an aspect or component of marketing that utilizes internet tools and technologies such as mobile phones, digital media channels (facebook, twitter, telegram etc) to promote a product or service and grow user base. 

    The common kpi ( key performance indicator) of digital marketing includes: lead/online conversion rates, returning visitors, web traffic sources, click through etc. These jobs are common among social media influencers and bloggers.

    Digital marketers earn close to $50,000 yearly while in Nigeria it’s around 3 million naira yearly depending on the company.
