The Deputy Governor Central Bank Of Nigeria Mr Lametek Adamu has called on the attention of the public regarding issues arising from fake email addresses sending out mail and requesting deals in the name of the Deputy Governor.

According to the report issued by the nation’s bank through Mr Isaac Okorafor, Director Corporate Affairs. The public has been advised to be on alert and disregard any email not coming from the official site of the bank. All email according to the report should must end with @cbn.gov.ng. Any email not ending with @cbn.gov.ng should be avoided. Any person not following these instructions is doing so at his own risk as the nation’s bank will not appeal to any action failing on deaf ears. CBN will never request a deal from you through emails either , Isaac noted.

    Lametek Adamu said:

If in doubt about the authenticity of an email, document or telephone conversation purportedly coming
from or on behalf of the CBN, please send an email query to contactcbn@cbn.gov.ng or call

Moreso, the Bank wishes to advise all members of the public to desist from transacting business
with imposters as doing so would be at their own risk.
